The Challenge

Red 5 completed two landmark acquisitions, catapulting them from an Australian explorer to producer. They immediately began the search for a solution and implementation partner that could quickly deploy a fully integrated system for their digital core. The solution had to meet the needs of their head office in Perth as well as the operational needs of the new mine sites, incorporating business processes for Finance, Operations, Procurement, Inventory, and Maintenance without compromising quality. Speed of implementation was vitally important. Commercially and operationally, there was an imperative to stand up a system to a tight deadline.

The Solution

SAP S/4HANA from DyFlex Solutions was selected. As a next generation ERP Business suite, S/4HANA would allow Red 5 to take advantage of a world class solution that is always up to date with the latest innovations. DyFlex Solutions deep understanding of mining meant that they were able to clearly demonstrate the ability to implement SAP S/4HANA. As one of the mine sites previously used SAP, DyFlex could implement a solution whilst;

• Simplifying processes and improving data

• Maintaining process continuity where it maintained effciency and quality

• Minimise the impact on the current user experience (UI)

• Reducing the need to roll out an extensive retraining program

• Complete the project within 15 weeks

The Outcome

Red 5 went live with SAP S4/HANA within the agreed timeframe. The transition was described by Red 5 as seamless. All the major functions across Multi-Company Finance, Procurement, Inventory and Maintenance operated from day one. Today, Red 5 are continuing to realise the benefits of S/4HANA.
